Job Title: SEMH Behaviour Mentor
Location: Norwood
Salary: £100 to £110 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Behaviour Mentor to join the team at a specialised SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) College in Norwood. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting young people aged 14 to 19 who face challenges in managing their emotions and behaviour. Your primary goal will be to help these students thrive academically and socially, guiding them to overcome barriers to learning and supporting their personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Support students in their academic work, helping them stay focused and engaged.
Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to create individualized learning plans.
Use positive reinforcement techniques to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote their emotional and social well-being.
Assist in monitoring progress and tracking behavioural improvements.
About You:
Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH or challenging behaviours, is desirable.
A passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
An understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students effectively.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
