Job Description
Role: Science Technician
Location: Rochdale
Qualiteach is currently looking for an experienced science technician for a mainstream secondary academy based within the Rochdale area. The role is due to begin on 06/01/2025 and will continue on an ongoing basis.
Ideally you will have worked as a science technician within a school, academy or college previously but the school are happy to consider applicants with a strong science background with industry experience and recent science graduates with a passion for science.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting up and clearing away the equipment
* Assisting the science teacher with practical science experiments
* Ensuring all aspects of health & safety are adhered to
* Stock control
* Ensuring all equipment is safe and stored safely
* Supporting the science department and head of science as and when required
Key Requirements:
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service
* Able to start on 06/01/2025 and commit on a long-term basis, 5 days per week
* Excellent communication skills
* High attention to detail
The academy are looking for someone with a real passion for science who can actively support the department. You will be tenacious, adaptable with immaculate attention to detail.
The academy has a new, modern build with state of the art equipment throughout. They also benefit from excellent transport links to the local and surrounding areas and have free on-site parking.
