Merchant Solutions Technology

The Merchant Solutions Technology group provides the Corporate Bank with a dedicated team that capitalizes on the rapidly evolving technology industry to provide our clients new products and innovation to meet their growing needs within an Agile FinTech-like setup. We deliver innovative products such as our Digital Payment Gateway (creating an API based solution allowing Marketplaces and Merchant to streamline their payment processing and settlement activities). As part of our new team within the Berlin Tech Hub you will be responsible for technical design, coding, automated unit testing and integration and will liaise with the Product Owner, Architects, Product Managers, software engineers/developers and testers regarding the development and implementation of product lines using various technologies.

As a Developer (f/m/x), you will be developing end-to-end applications for merchant solutions to accomplish business goals.

Your key responsibilities
  • Contribute to building a shared platform architecture and code base across Fintech Enablement applications allowing quicker time to market of new solutions
  • Use your full stack or backend Java experience for designing and developing new and existing applications within a cloud-based high availability architecture
  • Assist in the adoption of modern engineering practices, design principles and Agile methodology across the Fintech Enablement team
  • Engage with the business sponsors and stakeholders to implement requirements according to agreed timelines
  • Partner with QA to ensure quality solutions are delivered to end users and provide Level 3 support when needed
Your skills and experiences
  • Significant prior experience in Core Java, Database Technologies (e.g. SQL, Hibernate, NoSQL, MongoDB), micro-service architectures, Kubernetes containerization platforms (GKE, OpenShift)
  • Practical experience with build tools (e.g. Maven, Gradle), version control (e.g. Git) and continuous integration systems (e.g. Teamcity, Jenkins)
  • Good experience in any or all of these is a plus: building cloud based, distributed, highly available and fault tolerant applications; building large scale and highly available (REST) API's in Java
  • Good understanding of industry standard processes and tools for version control (e.g. Git), build (e.g. Maven, Gradle), continuous integration systems (e.g. Teamcity, Jenkins) and support (CI/CD, incident/problem/change management etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German language knowledge would be a plus
