Learning Resources Librarian £31,821 – £38,560 per annum (pro rata) Permanent (JobShare) Part Time (18 hours) Wandsworth, London Are you an experienced Librarian with an interest in children’s literature and would like to be part of a team that enhances education in schools? Join our busy Learning Resources Service (LRS) – a school library serviceThe service supports the teaching of pupils by providing an array of resources from story props to guided reading material to primary schools that subscribe to the service. As a Learning Resources Librarian, you will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team and an 18-hour job share. Your core working hours are likely to be between 09:00-16:00, spread over three days per week with some flexibility. About the role Reporting to the Senior Learning Resources Librarian, you will be responsible and contribute to a range of tasks within the library including general issue, returns, shelving of library resources and keeping the library stock in good order. You will be involved in the full range of activities in the library, including assisting with the day to day operation of the LRS; contributing to the effective delivery of the resources to schools compiled according to the National Curriculum; and teachers’ requests. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Experience of working in libraries or with collections of written material. Knowledge of the National Curriculum. Good IT skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Formal qualifications are not essential, however a relevant qualification would be advantageous as would an interest in children’s literature.
