ROLE SUMMARY: St. Louis School Colonna Campus is seeking a Head of Early Years to lead our dynamic Early Years department. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and innovative leader to shape and inspire the next generation of learners, ensuring the delivery of a world-class early years education. As Head of Early Years, you will be responsible for driving pedagogical excellence, supporting staff development, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Early Years department, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and values. Curriculum Development: Oversee the planning and delivery of a high-quality, student-centered curriculum inspired by Reggio Emilia principles. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and support the Early Years teaching team, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching culture. Student Progress: Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform planning and intervention strategies. Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with parents and the wider school community, promoting engagement and collaboration. Enrichment & Events: Coordinate and lead enrichment activities, including school trips, assemblies, and Early Years events. Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain high standards of safeguarding and pastoral care. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Qualifications: A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent). Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading an Early Years team or department, ideally in an international or Reggio Emilia-inspired setting. Passion for Early Years Education: A deep commitment to nurturing young learners and fostering a creative, inclusive learning environment. Innovative & Collaborative: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team while driving innovation in teaching and learning. Data-Driven: Skilled in using assessment and data to support student progress and inform teaching strategies. Commitment: A long-term commitment to the school and its community, with a focus on continuous improvement and excellence. REQUIREMENTS: A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with a recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent). Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. An EU passport or a valid visa to work in Italy would be beneficial.
