Senior Legal Counsel

For our Client, an engineering group operating in the infrastructure sector, we are looking for a: LEGAL COUNSEL On a functional basis, he/she will report to the Senior Counsel in charge of legal affairs in Europe. MAIN RESPONSABILITIES As a part of the Global Legal Team, he/she will cooperate with the local legal function and with the legal Counsel in charge of legal affairs in Europe, offering genuine support on several matters such as compliance policy respect, reviewing potential litigation cases, and handling legal and administrative duties of the company in Italy and in other countries where the company operates. He/she will provide legal advice and analysis on a full range of issues (mainly contractual and litigation) arising in the countries where the company performs its activities. He/she will draft and advise on a wide range of contracts and agreements with respect to the company’s worldwide projects. Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress. Support contract negotiations. He/she will deal with internal clients, operational teams, clients, consortium partners, subcontractors and their legal advisors, and senior management on a day-to-day basis. He/she will understand and extensively know the active projects and the tenders in preparation. Provide advisory services to internal stakeholders and challenge legal matters through risk identification and mitigation advice. Liaise with local insurance brokers for projects and tenders. Draft legal notices and lead the support towards management of dispute cases. Participate in the Group legal network. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Post Graduate Law Degree (Master, LLM or PhD) LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in English (written and spoken) CAREER BACKGROUND Solid knowledge of Italian public procurement rules, engineering contracts, and EPC contracts is mandatory. Experience in Design and Build projects. Post Qualification experience of at least 4 years. Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts and transaction documents. Previous experience in an international environment - engineering and/or construction company is preferred. LOCATION: ROME with periodic trips in Italy. J-18808-Ljbffr
