Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,273 per week in Wichita, KS

A great School is looking for an experienced or newly graduated Occupational Therapist / OT to join their growing team for a contract assignment The Occupational Therapist / OT is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require rehabilitation services which includes: providing direct patient care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation. Also, the Occupational Therapist / OT will establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient s capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Physician. As well, the Occupational Therapist / OT must set realistic and achievable goals for their patients, document and record the patient s condition and educate patients and families in an appropriate occupational therapy method. Primary Functions Complete standardized and/or informal testing and functional assessments to assess fine motor skill and measure progress. Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to residential and/or day-only students as specified in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Participation in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for assigned students. Provide requested training to parents/family/caregivers and other professionals and direct care staff. Write programs and procedures as determined by the team to support IEP goals and objectives. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and direct care staff members to ensure consistent programming across environments. Track quality and quantity of OT data and compile data for all IEP objectives. Document direct and indirect services provided for each student. Provide guidance and oversight to the COTA or occupational therapy assistant related to the delivery of occupational therapy services and the facilitation of professional growth and competence. Prompt and regular attendance is required. Secondary Functions Distribute, modify, maintain, and repair therapy equipment as needed. Complete routine checks with classroom and group home staff while completing OT programs, procedures, and data collection. All other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Must have graduated from an accredited school. Current state license as an Occupational Therapist / OT or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist / OT. Current CPR certification. Provide skilled occupational therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders. Assesses patient needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions. Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient. Educational, Training, and Licensure Requirements Successful completion of an occupational therapy program from an accredited university. Current Kansas Occupational Therapy License in good standing. Must successfully complete all required orientation and training.
