Mathematics Teacher

CalWest's partner school in the Bay Area seeks an experienced Math Teacher to begin July 2025. Interviews will be conducted in December. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. Master's degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferred. Strong classroom management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Responsibilities: Develop curriculum and teach the full range of our courses, from Algebra 1 through college-level mathematics. Ensure lesson plans are engaging and active, which supports a positive classroom management program. Teach five courses sequentially during the year, with each running two hours per day for six weeks. Teach courses spanning a range of topics, from combinatorics to calculus to number theory. Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to math or the successful candidate’s interests. Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students on projects.
