Travel Radiation Therapist - $2,295 per week in Raleigh, NC

Job Title: Radiation Therapist Job Specialty: General Radiation Therapy Job Duration: 12-week contract Shift: Days, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 per week Experience: No prior experience required License: Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA). Certifications: Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must-Have: Completion of approved Radiation Therapy Technologist program and ARRT certification. Job Description: - Administer radiation therapy in accordance with physician's instructions and the patient's treatment plan. - Enter data into computer systems and set controls to operate and adjust equipment to regulate dosage. - Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and others to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans, using information about patient condition and anatomy. - Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians. - Maintain patient and billing records, reports, and files according to department policies and procedures, including information on radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patients' reactions. - Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy according to established practices and standards. - Prepare equipment and room for patients. - Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, self, and others. - Perform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines. - Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
