Job Description

The Strategic Planner position is a developmental role that focuses on honing strategic planning skills and increasing autonomy. The role involves building storytelling skills and honing oral and written communication and presentation abilities. They will have the opportunity to develop foundational planning skills, including facilitation, research design, interviewing, insight identification, workshop design, and reporting. They are expected to be a highly motivated individual with growing analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Strategic Planner will have the chance to work on a variety of strategic planning projects and gain valuable experience in the field. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Brand Planning Builds understanding of strategic discipline, agency processes and pharma compliance requirements. Builds story telling skills as it relates to written strategy skills, focus on tactical planning and writing project briefs. Market Research Contributes to the gathering of relevant customer dynamics, understand disease state and how to apply this to a brand strategy. Communication and Cross Functional Collaboration Hones ability to consume and distill information into clear, concise summaries of key takeaways and create a point of view. JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Understands the strategic planning fundamentals of disease state, indications, customer, and science of assigned brands. Builds written strategy skills with the initial focus on tactical planning and writing project briefs. Understands and effectively utilizes the strategic process and agency structure as well as pharmaceutical marketing guidance and compliance requirements. Supports market research design, interviewing, insight identification, and reporting. Begins to autonomously develop social listening monitoring and analysis. Supports and begins to immerse into market research and develop a robust fact base from research. Supports client workshops prep materials and begins to moderate break out groups and captures key takeaways. Attends and contributes to internal/client meetings and starts basic output report summaries. EDUCATION DEGREE/DIPLOMA Bachelor’s degree AREA OF STUDY Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or Related Field REQUIRED/PREFERRED Preferred EXPERIENCE MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 1 years AREA OF EXPERTISE Brand strategy or market research REQUIRED/PREFERRED Preferred 0-1 year Pharmaceutical/health experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Competent in software specific to the client and agency processes including Microsoft Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel. Working knowledge in research tools (search databases including SERMO, Datamonitor). Working knowledge in social media platforms. Strong oral and written communication to express ideas/POVs. Ability to use AI platforms as an accelerant for brands needs and strategic deliverables. Active listening and keen attention to detail; can adapt work based on feedback/discussion. Able to work on multiple projects, adhere to timeline and maintain organization. COMPETENCIES Communication Expresses ideas accurately and clearly.
