Job Description
Reports to: National Sales Manager, Account Manager Job purpose: To plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities to all current as well as new customers. To maintain and develop sales on behalf of the company to all account holders, COD customers and new clients in accordance with agreed budgets and business plans. All responsibilities and actions are carried out on behalf of the Company. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers via visits, meetings, telephone calls and e-mails. Prospecting, identifying and calling on potential customers for growth and new business in the area and Market Segment(s) Acting as a contact between a company and all its existing and potential markets. Visit customers and getting orders by up-selling the Range of Products and closing sales. Gathering market and customer information on behalf of the company. Representing the organisation at trade exhibitions, industry events and demonstrations days as and when necessary. Checking quantities of goods on display and in stock at customer level. Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office. Reviewing own sales performance against Budgets and Targets aiming to meet or exceed these, immediately relate any deviation more than 10 % from the sales budget in your area to the relevant Sales Manager. All relevant information as describe in this Job Description must be reported to the responsible area manager(s), depending on the importance and impact of the information, call immediately, or on your report template document weekly and summarised monthly. When immediate attention is required, contact the relevant Manager immediately. Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements. To prepare accurate and correct quotations for customers, according to the appropriate company pricelist. Provide future buying trends back to employer. Plan and prioritise personal sales activities especially managing personal time and productivity. Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims. Keep an updated (at least monthly) current customer record, and update relevant information held in the company's electronic database. Plan and support local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organized marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, training sessions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods. Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information. Attend internal and external training days and courses to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills in sales and technical knowledge. Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to safety of products and care of equipment. Criteria: Sell and Market the company's products to all agreed customers through the range of products in the agreed segments(s) Sell & market according to the existing Budget for the area. Have available always, an updated customer list, visiting schedule and route schedule for all customers in your area. Keep records and where instructed a photo file of all promotional Activities. Visit clients on a regular basis as per client grading. Open new accounts that can become regular customers. (all market Segments) Add new clients to the customer list Always be ethical, professional and presentable as a representative of the Company Matric Proven technical sales experience selling Pest Control products and solutions to large manufacturing companies in the Pest Control and grain storage sector. Must be able to understand Afrikaans Will be servicing the JHB, Pretoria and Standerton areas
