Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is looking for a Mechanical and Civil Inspector to be based at our Rocksavage site, Runcorn Main Purpose To be responsible for the completion of inspections of static mechanical and civil assets owned / managed by Orbia’s Fluor & Energy Materials business within the UK operations, including Rocksavage Site, Runcorn Heath and Thornton Science Park. Main Responsibilities Support the Runcorn site RME in delivering statutory / company compliance through the impartial execution of asset inspections of static mechanical and civil assets within the UK operations sites such as storage tanks, relief streams, registered pipelines structures etc. Manage the execution of Fluor and energy Materials / 3rd party / specialist inspection services ensuring impartiality and delivery against annual plans driven by the inspection programme. Maintain awareness of developments in the inspection and NDE sectors. Identify and utilize standard and alternative methods with the aim of improving inspection integrity and efficiency. Provide a wider F&EM business inspection support role to other sites as and when required. Assist the Senior Inspector to closely monitor the inspection department workload through long-term view / inspection lookaheads and arrange for / manage completion through additional resources where required. Provide management of the inspection databases, drawing system and hard copy stat records. To update inspection records / drawings held in Meridian (Drawing Management System). Qualifications Minimum: Higher National Certificate in mechanical engineering. Formal qualifications in inspection methods and techniques. Desirable: Apprenticeship or hands-on technical background. Knowledge/ Experience Required Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an inspection role within an upper tier COMAH environment. Experience of indirect resource execution management. Experience of work coordination / planning would be considered advantageous. Civil engineering experience would be considered advantageous. A working knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations. Demonstrable knowledge of working with and inspection of ageing assets. Knowledge of the latest inspection methods for inspection of static equipment.
