Job Description

This Sales Leader position will focus on new product and professional services sales, closing deals for achieving our annual goals. The role is primarily public sector orientated (excluding defence and security), but there will be opportunities outside of this. You’ll be supported by our team of experts, who will be on hand to provide targeted demos, procurement project insights and product knowledge. Note: On top of the competitive basic salary being offered, the annual OTE is up to 25K. Position & Responsibilities In performing this exciting new role your core duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Business Development – navigate commercial operations/structures in large organisations and identify new leads and nurture existing contacts. Using market information and networking to inform your approach. Primarily in the UK public sector (excluding Defence and Security), and also supporting wider opportunities Strategic Direction – Managing key sales strategies in line with the company’s strategic direction to grow business in this sector, and to actively seek intelligence to inform the businesses strategic plans and to devise experiments that will drive opportunities Closing – generate new orders from new names in the identified market for both SaaS and professional services, to meet or exceed the sales targets Connecting - attend customer sites to deliver meetings, presentations and demonstrations and to meet with customers and new leads Promotion – of Commerce Decisions through marketing activity, such as trade shows, customer site visits, webinars, workshops and through social media activity, aligned to our market messaging. Ensuring engagement with people at the right level in our target organisations Collaboration – with our wider teams/experts in sales, marketing, professional services, customer success, R&D and finance to ensure that each opportunity receives the appropriate attention and care, that market intelligence is shared, and to ensure effective transition from pre- to post-sales project phases, including alignment of customer payment obligations Reporting – regular reporting and record keeping on sales forecast both on bookings and on revenue, strategic direction and experiments within sales, the senior leadership team and in corporate forums What we are looking for We’re on the lookout for someone who is energetic, friendly, and results focussed, responsible for winning new business in line with our targets. You’ll need to be great at working developing relationships, connecting with leads and navigating structures in large organisations to close new business for both SaaS and our expert consulting services. The successful candidate will: be able to demonstrate strong new business sales results within the SaaS and professional services sector, be a self-starter who is self-motivated, flexible, and shows initiative, be enthusiastic, curious, target-focused and tenacious, be a quick learner and a team player, be ready to share ideas and knowledge, be able to engage with senior stakeholders at prospects, have strong analytical skills and an ability to think logically, have experience in working with the UK Public Sector (beneficial), have good Excel and CRM System capability. Desirable (but not essential) : Understanding of Government/Defence procurement processes Experience selling software and/or professional services Knowledge of procurement software applications and marketplace Some awareness of UK Government Procurement Legislation – PCR, DSPCR, PA23 or the Competitive Tendering procedures and processes Experience with selling via frameworks such as CCS G Cloud Experience of working with and managing partnership arrangements to facilitate sales
