Job Description

The Foundation Development ASsociate/Grant Writer and Administrator works independently under the direction of the ARCA Foundation Executive Director and Chief Development Officer (Executive Director) to generate annual revenue through grant writing, fundraising events, individual giving, and third-party fundraisers. The Development Associate/Grant Writer & Administrator will collaborate closely with the Executive Director/Chief Development Officer and ARCA Foundation leadership team to strategize, plan, and execute the foundation's comprehensive fundraising program. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three years of experience in fund development, donor relations, and grant writing/administration. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong emotional intelligence (EQ) and ability to build relationships with ARCA team members, diverse stakeholders and persons served.Proven ability to work effectively with a board of directors, leadership, and team members. Self-starter with high professionalism, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.Nonprofit fundraising experience. Strong analytical and grant writing skills. Proven track record of Grant Writing and Administration. Ability to make clear and informative project presentations to volunteer boards and committees and related organizations. Involves extensive hours reading, writing and using a computer. Work is performed onsite in a busy, fast-paced office and in the field when necessary. Must be able to respond to frequent interruptions and work with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner. Works independently and as part of a team. Time management skills are essential. Must be able to prioritize tasks and coordinate paperwork flow so that involved parties can also support the project timelines. Must be able to shift priorities to attend to matters that require immediate attention. Must be able to identify appropriate opportunities and analyze critical components of applications and complete them accurately. Must be able to manage extensive paperwork and multiple timelines. Must be able to respond to key parties regarding specific projects and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality of persons served and the agency. Must be able to write clearly and concisely. Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships with a wide variety of organizations. Must communicate effectively and appropriately with external partners and co-workers to satisfy completion of highly specific projects and build and maintain funding relationships and community partners.
