The Team: The Compliance and Operational Risk team is responsible for providing independent oversight across various business functions, ensuring adherence to global compliance and risk management policies. The team plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory and operational risks while maintaining strong governance and control frameworks. Role Description: This position sits within the second line of defense , providing compliance and operational risk oversight for key business areas. The role involves assessing regulatory risks, identifying compliance gaps, and offering independent reviews to enhance risk management practices. Key Responsibilities: Assist in assessing risks, evaluating control effectiveness, and ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies . Provide compliance and operational risk oversight for business units and control functions. Identify and escalate potential risk issues while supporting actions to address the root causes of compliance and operational risk concerns. Conduct monitoring and independent reviews of front-line activities. Support regulatory and trading venue inquiries, as well as internal audits and assessments . Assist in trade surveillance investigations and contribute to the enhancement of risk management programs . Stay informed on regulatory developments and support their implementation within the business . What Our Client Is Looking For: Solid experience in Compliance and/or Operational Risk , ideally within financial markets (FICC business experience preferred). Strong knowledge of relevant EU and US regulations (MiFID II, MAR, Dodd-Frank, Volcker, etc.). Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with Trading, Sales, and other internal stakeholders . Strong analytical skills and familiarity with compliance policies and frameworks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Skills: Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities. Experience in surveillance, monitoring, or testing is an advantage but not mandatory.
