Job Summary Working closely with management, provides training and support to a client focused team responsible for a variety of food and beverage services at four downtown Vancouver properties. Ensures that all services and employees are meeting or exceeding The Lazy Gourmet’s standards of exemplary service. As a Catering Supervisor you will: Works with management to improve all operational systems within the department. Provides training and assists with staff development. Delegates daily and weekly tasks of service staff. Monitors staffing levels, maintains inventory levels, completes all reports required by management. Proactive problem solving to resolve issues with food, service, or employee concerns. Adherence to all Compass Group Canada, Lazy Gourmet, Work BC, and Vancouver Coastal Health FOODSAFE policies. Ensure strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations. About you: Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other team members with the ability to promote organizational goals and resolve problems. Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor while working in a variety of high pressure environments. Physically able to lift objects up to 35 pounds (16 kilos). Must be able to work on their ‘feet’ for most of the day, with significant walking between service locations. Strong organizational skills, self-motivated. A minimum of three years supervisory or management experience in catering industry. Experience in the development and implementation of training materials and practices.
