Job Title: Radiographer Grade: Band 5 or Band 6 Trust: West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust Location: Watford General Hospital, Vicarage Road, Watford, WD18 0HU Ward/Dept: A and C Radiology Office Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours, minimum 4 days a week Shift Pattern: Variable 8am to 4pm, 8am to 6.30pm, flexibility will be required. Pay Rates - Day: £18.03 - £23.18 The Role We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable radiographer. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and maintaining radiation safety for the department and will be required to work closely with the radiation protection advisors and the radiology radiation protection panel. The Responsibilities If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below - as well as those not included here, call today to discuss further: · The duties and responsibilities of the post holder is to be an effective member of the Cardiac Cath Lab team, providing a high standard of radiographic service to Cardiology and patients. · They will be responsible for the needs of all patients attending the service. · The post holder will be an experienced and skilled Radiographer who will use their clinical knowledge and experience to inform the optimal delivery of the service and to jointly manage the Cath Lab service with the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager. · The post holder will be dynamic, innovative, forward thinking, and will contribute to service development. · They will have responsibility to supervise junior staff and students including those radiographers during their training in interpretation of plain images. · The applicant must have experience, knowledge and the skills required to work in dynamic cardiac catheter labs situated in a busy district general hospital. In which the following procedures are undertaken PPM and complex CMR device implantation, EP and ablations, coronary angiograms, and PCI, including Pressure wire studies, IVUs and OCT, balloon therapy, stenting, chronic lesions and retrograde approach. · The x-ray equipment is Siemens Artis Q, so experience of operating this equipment would be expected. · Pacs systems used are CRIS and Medcon. To be successful in applying for this role you will need: Applicants are required to have a good knowledge of working in cardiac catheter labs, and operation of Siemens Artis Q x-ray system. Applicants must be qualified radiographers with valid AHP registration. Radiographers must have a good knowledge of IRMER and IRR, and how they apply to working in cardiac catheter labs especially in relation to ALARA for both patients and staff. Knowledge and experience of undertaking QA programs is desirable but not essential. In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of Relevant Qualifications Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
