Learning and Care Support Assistant – Harrow, HA3 Salary: £15 - £18 per hour (PAYE) Contract Type: Full-Time, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive both academically and personally? Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated Learning and Care Support Assistant to join a SEND college in Harrow (HA3). As a Learning and Care Support Assistant (LCSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. If you're compassionate, committed to student well-being, and have a background in healthcare, we would love to hear from you Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND in both classroom and care settings. Assist with personal care, including manual handling and peg feeding (training provided). Support students with challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Assist with epilepsy care and other specific health needs (training provided). Work closely with teaching staff to meet students' individual learning and care requirements. Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of students throughout the school day. Attend staff meetings and participate in training sessions as required. Skills and Experience: Previous experience in healthcare or care roles is highly desirable. Ability to understand and support the unique needs of students with SEND. Training in manual handling, peg feeding, challenging behavior, and epilepsy care is required (training will be provided if needed). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about fostering students’ development and well-being. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility with working hours and schedules.
