Job Title: Business Coach Reporting To: Head of Programmes & Delivery Salary: £30,000 Per Annum Location: Tooting (onsite-SW17 9SH, London) with 1-2 days WFH Contract: Full-time 12month FTC Closing Date: 21 st March 2025 About us Business Launchpad empowers marginalised young entrepreneurs aged 16 to 30 in London through personalised business support, workshops, programs, and 1:1 coaching. Our collaboration with young people helps them start businesses or enter employment, education, and training. We foster confidence, aspiration pursuit, and potential realisation in youth. THE ROLE We are seeking a results-driven Business Coach to support marginalized young people in London in transforming their business ideas into thriving enterprises by providing one-on-one business support, facilitating workshops, advocating for young entrepreneurs, and connecting them with essential resources. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of business support experience, strong business knowledge, and preferably lived experience in business development. They should be passionate about creating positive change, fostering resilience and confidence, and working with hard-to-reach young people facing multiple barriers. A qualification in business advice, development, or youth work is desirable, and we welcome applicants with lived experience of overcoming barriers. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Business Support Support and monitor each client’s journey at Business Launchpad, creating an inspiring, motivating, and productive environment while holding young people accountable to their business goals. Provide high-quality 1:1 business support to clients, helping them progress towards achieving business results by offering relevant information, advice, and guidance to overcome barriers and start their own business or social enterprise. Review applications, conduct initial assessments, and respond to inquiries. Assist in ideation, design, and innovation of programmes, workshops and masterclasses. Facilitate engaging workshops and programmes for clients, with flexibility in scheduling according to team needs. Assist with and attend workshops and events in support of clients and colleagues. Stay updated with professional knowledge related to business start-up and development. Contribute to the referral database and refer young people to external agencies and specialists as necessary. Proactively create opportunities to enhance clients' social capital. Contribute to the development and review of client support materials. Support cohort programs with 1:1 business support. Employability Support & Skills Development: Deliver career-focused coaching sessions to help young people explore employment options alongside their entrepreneurial journey. Provide CV writing, job search, and interview preparation guidance. Facilitate employability workshops covering essential skills such as networking, communication, resilience, and personal branding. Connect clients with potential employers, industry partners, and apprenticeships that align with their entrepreneurial goals. Provide financial guidance to help young people shape a sustainable financial future through a mix of employment and self-employment. Monitoring and Evaluation Evaluate and report client progress and needs to the Head of Programme & Delivery to enhance service quality and expand support services as required. Assist in client and program evaluation, report writing, and developing exit strategies when necessary. Collaborate with the Impact & Evaluation Manager to compile accurate monthly statistics for all client support provided. Contribute to the drafting of annual impact reports. Maintain organised and efficient documentation on the Salesforce CRM system while adhering to GDPR policies. Responsible for ensuring clients and participants remain engaged while part of your caseload. Responsible for monitoring logging and reporting on client engagement and participation in 121 support or other programmes or long-term interventions. Safeguarding Responsibilities Ensure that all young people engaging with Business Launchpad are supported in a safe and inclusive environment. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, identifying and reporting any concerns regarding the welfare of clients to the designated safeguarding lead. Recognise signs of vulnerability and take appropriate action to safeguard young people. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices, attending regular training as required. Promote a culture of trust, respect, and confidentiality while maintaining professional boundaries. Community Building and Partnerships Advocate for youth enterprise by networking, conducting outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness of services among young people, and nurturing partnerships and resources to support the client journey at Business Launchpad. Build and foster lasting relationships with tenants of Tooting Works to create opportunities for business/work experience for young clients.
