Summary We're looking for you to join our team at the Cheshire and Wirral portfolio. If you have experience in supporting volunteers and community engagement, then we'd like to hear from you. With a team of over 250 volunteers, this role is all about connecting with people.? Your role may involve volunteer line management, with the expectation of occasional weekend working and some duty management. You'll work 9am-5pm two days between Wednesday-Friday to match the opening days and times of Little Moreton and Hare Hill. We may be able to offer some flexibility around this. What it's like to work here Spread out across the portfolio, we're a friendly team of around 100 staff and 300 volunteers all working together to keep these amazing places running. As part of the Experience team, you'll be managed by the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager and will work in that team alongside a Visitor Experience Officer, Welcome Manager and their teams. You'll have contact with all departments, supporting volunteer managers in every department across the portfolio. The Cheshire & Wirral portfolio is made up of the iconic Little Moreton Hall, the tranquil garden of Hare Hill, the magical woodland of Alderley Edge, the heathland of Thurstaston Common, and plenty of beautiful ‘pockets’ of Cheshire countryside- including a number of hills. The portfolio requires the team to balance their time well, prioritising the peak seasons for visitors to all our places. Working across these different sites means no two days are the same. We have a mix of long standing and new team members, all committed to delivering excellence. What you'll be doing As Volunteering & Community Officer you'll be based at Little Moreton Hall, with some travel to Hare Hill and Alderley Edge, while supporting colleagues in Cheshire West and the Wirral remotely. You’ll champion a positive, flexible and inclusive environment for existing and future volunteers, communities, and partners. Working across all departments you’ll help to develop a plan for volunteering and communities, looking at new ways of working and deepening relationships with existing and new audiences. As part of the duty management rota, you'll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
