BLS. Must graduate from an accredited school. Common Cases? CABG/Valve replacement/Carotid Endarterectomy/Fem-pop bypass/Angios/thoracotomy Experience or 'Must have' skills? Must have experience scrubbing vascular cases, heart cases and thoracic cases. Does not cover sterile processing. Is there a Charge Nurse/House Supervisor on each shift? ?Charge nurse/CVOR Coordinator and house supervisor available every day Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? ? Block scheduling?)Scheduling is done by CVOR coordinator, usually have the same day off each week or adjusted based on census- 4-10 hour shifts Weeknight/Call Requirements?Call is typically 1 day a week, call starts at 5pm-7am Weekend/Call Requirements?Call is typically 1 weekend a month Holiday/Call Requirements ?No holiday call requirements as a traveler but will allow them to pick up if desired What is call response time? ?30 minutes in the OR dressed and ready to go Floating Requirements?may have to float to Main OR if CVOR census low (this is rare) Scrub Color/Dress Code?scrubs provided by Methodist Hospital on arrival Unit/Department specific orientation?Orient with other CVOR surgical tech for a few days Additional Notes ?
