Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging - Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 0730-4:00. Call is optional, but not required Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Preferred one (1) year post-graduate work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist License: N/A Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in nuclear medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB). American Heart Association BLS certification. Must-Have: Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program or equivalent Job Description: - Perform general nuclear medicine examinations, including on-call services, therapeutic procedures, and PET/CT patient exams in a hospital-based, acute care environment. - Conduct nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by medical staff. - Assist radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures. - Perform ancillary duties required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures. - Complete documentation for all information necessary for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams. - Verify written/electronic orders and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of NM exams and procedures. - Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan. - Complete appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt/return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and/or federal regulations. - Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. - Exercise tact, discretion, and sensitivity, maintaining confidentiality. - Perform essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment. - Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized. - Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. - Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines. - This role requires regular and sustained attendance. - The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. - On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
