Job Title: CT Technologist Job Specialty: MSB Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12pm-7pm, flexible; for a tech who can perform X-ray, CT scan, and bone density. Guaranteed Hours: 37.50 hours per week Experience: At least 1 year of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program License: Licensing with the NYS Department of Health as a Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification Must-Have: - New York State License (L.R.T) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current CT certification - Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak) Job Description: - Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images. - Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration before any patient study is conducted. - Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician's orders following the prescribed protocol. - Adhere to all departmental documentation policies by completing all necessary logs, manuals, and charge documents, and reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies. - Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle. - Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation. - Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use. - Receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of doses prior to administration. - Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy. - Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
