About the Opportunity: • Job Title: Ocean Export Agent • Pay Rate Range: $22-27/Hour • Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN • Schedule: 1st Shift M-F 8AM-5PM or 8:30-4:30PM with possible flexible O/T. • Position Type: Temp to Hire Ocean Export Agent Requirements and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience. College degree is desirable. Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GS-Net, AS/400). Must have general knowledge and understanding of AES filing. Knowledge of international commerce (incoterms, customs regulations etc.) desirable. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule including some overtime, if necessary. Good teamwork skills and inclination. Ability to organically grow business with excellent customer service. Skilled and knowledgeable in specialized areas of perishables, project cargo, and hazardous materials shipping, preferred Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and with ability to prioritize and reprioritize. Ocean Export Agent Duties and Responsibilities: Preparation of export shipments and distribution of International Export Documents. Prepare export shipments for assigned customers. This may include shipping, labeling and distribution of cargo. Prepare export documents for distribution to traffic, CFS and warehouse. Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, steamship line and/or other facilities to obtain necessary information to process shipments in the best way. Filing and data entry. Issue freight bills and invoices and responsible for collecting unpaid invoices within credit term. General business support function as assigned. Tracking and tracing shipments. Basic accounting skills are required. Assist with rate proposals and reporting for key accounts.
