Job Description : Roles and Responsibilities : - Work throughout the SDLC to create, design, code, debug, maintain, test, implement, and validate mainframe applications. - Analyze existing applications and formulate logic for new applications, including procedures, flowcharts, coding, and debugging. - Maintain and utilize application and programming documents in code development. - Create deliverables and develop implementation plans in an Agile environment - Analyze, modify, and develop moderately complex COBOL/JCL/DB2/IMS/VSAM code. - Perform unit testing and validation requirements for code changes. - Implement corrective measures for code deficiencies and escalate alternative proposals. - Participate in walkthroughs and discussions, providing valuable inputs. - Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, testers, product owners, and business analysts. - Provide support to leadership for enforcing application standards and ensuring compliance. - Apply understanding of procedures, methodologies, and application standards, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliance. - Conduct and provide accurate estimates for initiatives, projects, and issues. - Assist with on-the-job training and provide guidance to other software engineers. - Provide on-call support and coordinate with Mainframe Operations for incident resolution. - MCA, B.Tech, B.E. (four-year college degree) or equivalent. - 5.5 to 8 years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data. Technical Skills : - Advanced knowledge of IBM Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, JCL, IMS DB, VSAM, TSO/ISPF. - Working experience with IBM File Manager, Debug Tool, CA7/11, Endevor. - Understanding of the complete SDLC. - Experience with Agile methodologies. Soft Skills : - Strong analysis skills for incident tickets and Abend fixes. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills. - Passion for doing what is right for the team, company, and customers (ref:hirist.tech)
