Database Administrator

THE TEAM & ROLE : The production engineering team is responsible for the smooth operation and security of the production infrastructure at Swiggy. We thrive to excel & continuously improve on the key operational pillars ( Reliability, Security, Observability, Elasticity and Governance). We design, build and operate Swiggy's cloud infrastructure and supporting platforms, to provide a flawless customer experience. This role will contribute to : - Reliability, Availability and Security of the critical database infrastructure at Swiggy (MySQL, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch and Redis) - Observing, identifying and correcting performance and scale bottlenecks of these databases. - Automating/Codifying repetitive operations and providing self service tools - De-risking data availability using highly consistent data backup/restore methods. What qualities are we looking for? - Familiarity with software engineering practices including unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation. - An interest in building internal products with other engineers as your customers. - Experience with AWS and Kubernetes. - - Track record of building self-service and high-quality platforms for developers with a customer-driven mindset. - - Curiosity about how things work and love to share that knowledge with others. - 1-3 years of professional experience in a software environment- - B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputed college.
