IBM DB2 Database Admin. Location : Pune. Mode : Hybrid. Mainframe DB2 Systems programmer / DBA. Indicative years of total experience: 8 to 10 years. Role Description : The system database administrator role is to serve as a member of a mainframe database team managing maintenance & upgrades using SMPE for DB2 system tools, catalog reorgs, query monitor. Reporting relationship : This role will report to IS Delivery Manager. Key Responsibilities : - Handling DB2 Maintenance and upgrade through SMPE. - Maintenance and upgrade through SMPE for DB2 subsystem Tools. - Knowledge of BSDS, Log copies, ZPARMS, Buffer-pool Managements, Storage, Thread, Locks, ZFS file systems. - DB2 Subsystem Setup in Sysplex distributor DDF, RRSAF, Data Sharing Group concepts and Cross Coupling Facility. - DB2 for z/OS, RACF/Top-Secret, TSO, SMS. - Good Understanding of Catalog and Directory, DB2 disaster recovery concepts. - Hands on experience of application DBA side with various DB2 Utilities both online and offline like IDCAMS, COPY, RECOVER, CHECK DATA, REORG, RUNSTATS, REBUILD, LOAD/UNLOAD, DSNJU003, DSJU004 etc. - Hands on experience on DB2 tools : DB2 Admin Tool, Log Analysis Tool, Object Comparison Tool, Query Monitor Tool, Automation Tool HPU, IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE for DB2 Performance Expert on z OS etc. - DB2 DBA activities including DDL/DML operations like creating new objects, modify existing objects structures, grant/revoke privileges. Hands on experience of DB2 object changes and handling related impact. - Work with vendors on problem resolution by gathering accurate and sufficient documentation and understanding the issue thoroughly enough to ensure the vendor is on target and handling the problem with appropriate priority. - Understand, write, tune and understand the performance implications of DB2 SQL, application environments & stored procedures. - Provide on-call rotational support. Good to have skills : - Hands on experience with IDAA upgrade & maintenance, IBM data studio testing, system troubleshooting support. - Experience with installing/upgrading and applying maintenance to a variety of products (examples include: CICS, MQ, DB2, IBM Tooling, etc. Education : - Graduate - Bachelor- s degree (Engineering preferred). - Preferred certifications : IBM DB2 Database Administration on Z/OS platform.
