Production Engineer - Applications Support

Job Summary : The Production Engineer is a crucial role responsible for implementing and optimizing processes and systems to ensure efficient and effective application support. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain smooth production operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong LINUX knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring system stability and performance. Roles and Responsibilities : Production Process Optimization : - Analyze and optimize production workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability. - Identify and implement improvements to streamline production operations. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely and effective manner. - Demonstrate strong knowledge of the LINUX operating system for effective troubleshooting. - Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions. Documentation & Maintenance : - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of production processes and procedures. - Ensure documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to relevant teams. Deployment & Patching : - Manage and execute application deployments. - Apply and manage system patches to maintain security and stability. - Good understanding of deployment procedures. Cross-Functional Collaboration : - Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless production operations. - Collaborate effectively in a highly cross-functional environment. Network Fundamentals : - Basic network knowledge for troubleshooting application and system connectivity issues. Communication & Problem Solving : - Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Exhibit strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to work under pressure. Adaptability : - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Qualifications : Experience : 3 years of experience in application support or production engineering. Technical Skills : - Strong knowledge of the LINUX operating system. - Experience with application deployment and patching. - Basic network knowledge. - Experience with root cause analysis. Soft Skills : - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Education Qualification : - Graduation : Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) - Post-Graduation : Master of Science (M.Sc) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (Preferred) Preferred Qualifications : - Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g, Python, Bash). - Experience with monitoring tools (e.g, Nagios, Prometheus). - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience with CI/CD pipelines (ref:hirist.tech)
