Job Description

Role The French - Chinese Translator Intern at AESC’s Douai Plant will support effective communication between Chinese and French-speaking teams. This internship involves translating technical and business content, interpreting during meetings, and ensuring cultural nuances are respected. Candidates with an interest in translation and an understanding of both French and Chinese cultures will be highly valued. This is a full-time internship role, offering an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global environment. Responsibility • Document Translation: Accurately translate technical documents, business reports, and internal communications between Chinese and French. • Meeting Interpretation: Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and training sessions, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding. • Content Localization: Adapt training materials, presentations, and other communications to reflect cultural and linguistic differences between China and France. • Cultural Mediation: Bridge cultural differences between Chinese and French teams, fostering effective collaboration and mutual respect. • Technical Support: Utilize linguistic skills to accurately translate technical terms and concepts, particularly those related to the manufacturing industry. • Terminology Management: Develop and maintain a glossary of technical terms to ensure consistent and high-quality translations. • Project Coordination: Collaborate with multiple departments to manage translation projects and ensure timely delivery. Qualification • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field. • Fluency in both written and spoken Chinese and French, with excellent grammar and vocabulary in both languages. • Ability to commit to a full-time internship role for a defined period (typically 6-12 months). • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate, context-sensitive translations. • Familiarity with translation tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ) is a plus. • Understanding of cultural differences between China and France, with the ability to navigate cross-cultural communication effectively. • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
