Application Developer

Responsibilities : - Participate in the full development lifecycle of the UDW platform, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. - Understand complex business requirements and translate them into robust and scalable technical solutions for the UDW platform. - Take ownership of the design, implementation, testing, and Level 3 support for assigned components of the UDW platform. - Engage in regular interaction with business and technical stakeholders globally to gather requirements, discuss solution approaches, provide updates on progress, and address any concerns. - Deliver high-quality software changes within agreed-upon timelines, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. - Perform thorough unit testing of developed code to guarantee functionality and identify potential issues early in the development process. - Provide support during System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Regression testing phases, working collaboratively with testing teams to resolve any defects. - Proactively propose and implement strategic and tactical solutions to address both business and technical challenges related to the UDW platform. - Understand and strictly adhere to organizational and team-level processes, standards, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle. - Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed components and solutions. - Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural guidelines. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the UDW platform in a timely and efficient manner. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the UDW platform by identifying areas for optimization and recommending enhancements. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Core Java development (version 8 and above). - Proven experience working with the Spring framework. - Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for various database systems. - Experience with automated unit testing frameworks, particularly JUnit. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Mandatory Skills : - Core Java (8) : Extensive experience in developing applications using Core Java (version 8 and above). - Spring Framework : Strong proficiency in utilizing the Spring framework for building robust and scalable applications. - SQL : Excellent command of SQL for data manipulation, querying, and analysis across different database systems. - Unit Testing (JUnit) : Proven experience in writing and executing automated unit tests using JUnit. Preferred Skills : - Experience with Spark and Scala for data processing and analysis. - Exposure to Big Data technologies and concepts, such as Parquet data format and query engines like Dremio. - Good understanding of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets domain. - Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle. - Experience with version control systems like Git. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools. - Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (ref:hirist.tech)
