You will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites, implementing custom functionalities, and ensuring seamless integrations with various third-party tools. This role requires a strong understanding of WordPress architecture, custom development, and best practices for website performance and security. This is an on-site, full-time contract opportunity based in Pune. Key Responsibilities : - Custom Theme Development : Design, develop, and implement custom WordPress themes from scratch using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including jQuery). Ensure themes are responsive, user-friendly, and adhere to modern web standards. - Custom Plugin Development : Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins to extend the functionality of websites based on specific project requirements. This includes creating custom post types, taxonomies, meta boxes, and admin interfaces. - API Integration : Integrate WordPress websites with various third-party APIs and services (e.g., payment gateways, CRM systems, marketing automation tools, social media platforms) to enhance functionality and data flow. - Performance Optimization : Optimize website performance for speed, scalability, and responsiveness. Implement caching mechanisms, optimize images and assets, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. - SEO and Security Best Practices : Implement SEO best practices during development, ensuring websites are search engine friendly. Adhere to security standards and implement measures to protect websites against vulnerabilities. - Database Management : Possess a strong understanding of MySQL and the WordPress database structure. Be able to write efficient database queries, manage database backups, and troubleshoot database-related issues. - UI/UX Implementation : Translate UI/UX designs created in Figma or Adobe XD into functional and visually appealing WordPress websites. Ensure pixel-perfect implementation and adherence to design specifications. - Code Quality and Version Control : Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code. Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) effectively for code management and collaboration. - Testing and Debugging : Conduct thorough testing of developed features and functionalities across different browsers and devices. Identify and debug issues efficiently to ensure a stable and error-free user experience. - Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with designers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure timely delivery. Maintain clear and effective communication in English. - - Problem-Solving : Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and find effective solutions. - Staying Updated : Keep abreast of the latest WordPress updates, security patches, development trends, and emerging technologies. Requirements : - Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in WordPress development. - Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including jQuery). - Extensive experience in developing custom WordPress themes and child themes. - Solid understanding and practical experience in developing custom WordPress plugins. - Proven ability to integrate WordPress websites with third-party APIs and services. - Demonstrable experience in website performance optimization techniques and tools. - Strong understanding of MySQL and WordPress database structure and management. - Familiarity with UI/UX principles and experience in translating designs from Figma or Adobe XD into functional WordPress websites. - Experience with responsive design principles and implementation. - Proficient in using version control systems, preferably Git. - Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Must be willing to work on-site in Pune. - Must be looking for a full-time contract role. Preferred Skills (Good to Have) : - Experience with WordPress multisite. - Knowledge of front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js). - Experience with server-side scripting languages beyond PHP (e.g., Python, Node.js). - Familiarity with WordPress REST API. - Experience with automated testing frameworks. - Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG). - Experience with deployment processes and tools.
