Software Engineering Advisor

Job Description : Responsibilities : - Mainframe development and processing using COBOL. Experience with mainframe technologies - IBM z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF. - Creating scripts in Unix and maintaining them for QA and Production. - Work on issue resolution, root cause analysis, and provide permanent fixes promptly. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PostgreSQL, Oracle databases. - Monitor Cron jobs and report and fix any issues, and provide timely communication with onshore. - Participate in daily team standup meetings where you'll give and receive updates on the current backlog and challenges. - Monitor logs in Cobol and should be able to edit/create data files and monitor for the performance of scheduled jobs, and report for any incidents. Requirements : - Key Skills : Java, Python, COBOL, ReactJS. - 8-11 years of experience with hands-on experience in Unix, COBOL, Python, and Spring Boot. - React.js, PostgreSQL, and Oracle will be added on. - Strong understanding of SQL, with the ability to write complex queries. - Good to have knowledge of state management libraries like Redux. - Working knowledge of tools like GIT, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, and OpenShift. - Knowledge of agile software development in the life cycle methodology. - Prior industry experience (Pharmacy, Healthcare, etc. ) preferred. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose issues and provide effective solutions. - Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical teams. - High School diploma or equivalent required. - Education : College degree preferred but not required.
