Design Engineer

Design Engineer Location: Sandy Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE Hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Mon – Fri Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-quality equipment, is seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join their dynamic design team. Based in Sandy, this role offers the opportunity to work on a comprehensive range of bespoke equipment, contributing to innovative and cutting-edge designs. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the design team to develop and enhance a wide variety of equipment. Utilise Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD with proficiency to create precise and functional designs. Leverage your engineering expertise to meet project deadlines, whether working independently or as part of a team. Liaise directly with suppliers to negotiate prices and delivery schedules. Requirements: Proven experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Strong engineering background with practical problem-solving skills. Ability to manage deadlines effectively, both independently and collaboratively. Hands-on shop floor experience, such as machining, welding, and fabrication. Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant field. Experience in designing food machinery and systems. Working knowledge of: Steam systems and energy calculations. Fluid systems, pumps, and pipework. Pneumatics and stress calculations. Sizing motors and gearboxes for applications. Sheet metal development and tolerances of machined parts.
