Parachute Packer - Aerospace Engineering / Manufacturing

Job Title: Parachute Packer (Aerospace) Location: Denham, Middlesex Salary: £28 - £30 000.00Job Type: Permanent Job Overview: The purpose of this role is to pack new build parachutes and drogues and repack. The team is proud of quality levels involved in their processes which contribute to the success of ejector seats produced on site. Key Responsibilities: Pack parachutes and drogues in accordance with technical specifications. Drawing of parts from satellite stores. Recording of batch numbers and completion of history sheets. Checking parachutes for flaws and noting minor flaws on the history sheet. Preparing parachutes for loading into the press. Efficient utilisation of operating presses to ensure parachutes and drogues are compressed in accordance with the drawings. Work with development programmes on working methods and specification of head boxes, parachutes and drogues including proptypes and test prices. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience in packing. Working with technical drawings and specifications. Engineering / manufacturing background. Qualifications: GCSE’s (English and Mathematics) (Grades D - G) Mechanical apprenticeship.
