In this role, youll support civil construction and land surveying projects that impact real communities. From inspecting sewer and water installations to assisting with design using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, youll get broad exposure to engineering fieldwork, construction management, and survey technology . Goals & Responsibilities This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: Conduct construction inspections for public infrastructure projects such as sewer, water, paving, and grading. Perform field surveying tasks , including boundary, topographic, and construction staking. Operate survey equipment , such as GPS and total stations, to support layout and data collection. Assist with the preparation of design documents and as-built records using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (training provided). Coordinate field activities with contractors and engineers to ensure quality and schedule alignment. Maintain communication with municipal officials, clients, and the public throughout the construction process. Travel to various job sites and perform work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Accurately measure, estimate, and verify that construction meets plan specifications. Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in construction inspection, land surveying, or related field is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Civil 3D or AutoCAD is a plusor a willingness to learn Strong math, problem-solving , and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Positive attitude , attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines. Willingness to work outdoors and travel to various job sites.
