Junior Government Affairs Intern Position

Job Description

As a Junior GR, you will track and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that could impact XIAOMI in LATAM. You will work closely with senior management and stakeholders to align policy positions with business objectives, requiring a strong understanding of federal governments, agencies, and congressional processes. Responsibilities: Provide support and counsel to the GR Regional Manager and the Head of Legal and GR on government legislation, regulations, and public policy matters. Support the GR Manager on establishing, maintaining, and enhancing positive relations with external audiences, including trade associations, government, and industry members. Monitor regional legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels. Work closely with other areas (Legal, Commercial, HQ, Country Manager, among others) to ensure alignment on policy priorities and strategies. Prepare reports and presentations for internal colleagues/departments, government, and external organizations. Maintain a database of key contacts (industry members, regional departments, media, government, etc.) Keep an up-to-date record of the regulations applicable to the sector and communicate relevant changes. Qualifications And Experience required: Graduate/undergraduate bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, law, or a related field. Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process. Analytical and research skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. English and Spanish proficiency (written and spoken). Presentation skills in Spanish and English. Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation.
