SCHOOL COUNSELLOR

POSITION: SCHOOL COUNSELLOR LOCATION: KAHNAWAKE SURVIVAL SCHOOL SALARY: Salary range $66,683.00 – $88,804.00 DURATION: Full-Time, Indeterminate Position Beginning the 2024/2025 School Year (9-month probationary period) Start Date: August 12, 2024 REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, Educational Psychology, or other related field • Minimum 3 years’ experience with clinical supervision • Strong knowledge and comprehension of the pedagogical and administrative direction of the Kahnawà:ke Education System, as well as all school programs and services and how they function and interact with one another • Knowledge of the Kanien’kehá:ka culture, and socio-economic issues • Knowledge of effective student management techniques, including crisis management, conflict resolution, behavioral differences and emotional disturbances, individual and group counselling techniques • Experience working with various grade (age) levels • Complete proficiency in English language • Proficiency in Kanien’kéha and French language is an asset APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, June 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm All required documents must be submitted before the deadline for your application to be considered: • Résumé • Letter of Intent • Name and contact info for three (3) recent professional references • Provide proof of educational requirements (see attached job description for the qualifications) The Kahnawà:ke Education Center wishes to thank all those who apply.
