Advocate DWF Chambers
We are recruiting full-time advocates to join our nationwide team at DWF Chambers, an alternative to traditional chambers at the self-employed Bar. We collaborate with DWF Law and other legal firms, providing a wide range of advocacy, drafting, and advisory services in civil, commercial, employment, public law, and regulatory environments.
About the roleOur team comprises around 25 individuals, including advocates and barristers. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive training followed by a gradual introduction to court-based advocacy. Once competent, they can expect to be in court four to five days a week, handling a variety of hearings with the necessary rights of audience. The workload will primarily focus on insurance-backed litigation and personal injury cases.
About youDWF Chambers has a dedicated clerking team to manage your diary. While efforts are made to keep travel reasonable, some travel is anticipated within this role.
Core requirements:
- Law degree and/or Graduate Diploma in Law with minimum grade 2:1;
- Bar Vocational Course or Bar Professional Training Course with minimum grade Very Competent.
Preferable experience:
- Previous experience in the legal sector;
- Previous experience in civil litigation;
- Previous advocacy experience.
DWF Chambers has experience in nurturing advocates and developing their skills, regardless of backgrounds. A number of DWF Chambers' members started their careers as advocates, before qualifying as barristers.
