Job Description

Minimum requirements for the role: A Bachelor degree in food science / food technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related is essential for this role. Previous experience having worked within the food industry will be advantageous, but will consider graduates with no experience. The successful candidate must be willing to work with non-Kosher, non-Halaal and pork products. Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English both verbal and written. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Conducting product application trials on new products. Developing of new products and new markets. Providing training to Customers on products and product applications. Conducting On-site testing and evaluation of products as required by clients. Developing new products for butchers and large factories in the interests of gaining market share. Liaising with customers along with Senior Food Technologists. Providing technical advisory services to butchers including consulting on product quality. Evaluating production capacities and efficiencies. Implementating quality control/assurance systems in order to increase production output and shelf life of products. Researching potential new markets for new business. Analysing and reporting on sales leads linked to clients. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
