Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Programs, the Clinical Director of Professional Practice, Ambulatory Care, Allied Health, and Medical Inpatient Program provides strategic leadership within the framework of the broader healthcare system and in alignment with the organization's strategic vision. Working collaboratively and in partnership with the Chief and Medical Director of the program, the Clinical Director of the Professional Practice, Ambulatory Care, Allied Health, and Medical Inpatient Program is responsible for developing and leading clinical program plans and achieving operations goals and facilitating the management of fiscal, human, and material resources assigned to ensure optimal quality of care, patient safety standards and outcomes. The Director of the Professional Practice, Ambulatory Care, Allied Health, and Medical Inpatient Program facilitates and manages strategic changes supporting patient-centric professional practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Position Requirements Graduate of an accredited university nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Master's Level Education in Nursing or health-related discipline. Director-level leadership experience in a hospital setting (minimum of 3 years preferred) Required Skills Demonstrated people-centric leadership, strategic planning and administrative skills. Ability to lead and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams with internal and external stakeholders and business partners. Continuous commitment to staff mentorship, training and professional development. Highly developed critical thinking skills with the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrates honesty, integrity, resilience, and confidence. Ability to role model BCHS values of compassion, accountability, respect and equity. Position Accountabilities Directs clinical services within the portfolio, delivering high-quality and safe care. Ensures clinical excellence, resulting in high-quality, safe and exceptional patient and family experiences. Accountable for ensuring Hospital Accreditation standards related to clinical services are met. Ensures strategic goals are maintained when prioritizing activities and projects within the portfolio. Establishes and supports implementing appropriate policies and processes to ensure the delivery of safe patient care. Accountable for operating a balanced budget. Position Responsibilities Strategic planning and execution of action plans that deliver results to exceed industry benchmarks and performance metrics. Builds a professional practice climate and facilitates an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Responsible for overseeing performance metrics, evaluating impact, and identifying improvement opportunities. Introduces processes and initiatives that create a culture focusing on patient-centric quality and safety. Responsible for building strong working relationships with all levels of hospital personnel and external partners to influence and facilitate patient-centric change initiatives and strategies. Responsible for engaging stakeholders and business partners to foster development and training processes that establish a high-performing, patient-centric organization. Strategically aligns direction, decisions, actions and evaluations with BCHS's mission, values, and guiding principles. Effectively and efficiently provide business-oriented planning and forecasting recommendations. Shared accountabilities across the leadership teams, focusing on collaboration and shared direction among diverse clinical and non-clinical employee groups. Supports a patient-centred care model based on best practice, program and corporate standards, continuous quality improvement and BCHS's strategic direction. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety. Demonstrated commitment to developing professional practice, mentorship, life-long learning and excellence in patient care. Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of employee and labour relations and hospital operations. Maintains compliance with hospital policies and all legislative requirements.
