Senior Technical Buyer - Manufacturing plant

Education: Must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain or related qualifications from an accredited institution. Experience: Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions. The ability to work cross functional, sales and product management. Strong planning skills. Self-motivated, results orientated and highly adaptable. Good communication and negotiation skills. Experience in identifying cost savings and driving down costs. Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Advanced knowledge of Oracle ERP system. Job Responsibilities: Handle the Request for Quotations (RFQ) processes for the division and relevant categories. Participate actively in the suppliers selection and undertake performance reviews. Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers to make business savings. Purchase goods from approved vendors Preparing compliant purchase orders. Assist in sourcing products and services and evaluating new vendors. Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities. Drawing outstanding purchase order reports. Confirming contract and price queries File all records to enable quick and easy access. Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on the purchasing process and new projects and activities. Monitor and advise on any issues which may present risk or opportunity to the organisation. Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvements. Communicate any delay or potential delay on orders to the relevant stakeholders.
