Job Description

Position: Senior Contract and Commercial Manager for Industrial Construction

Reports to: Head of CAPEX/GID Purchasing and Head of EU Purchasing


Expectations:

AESC is currently seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our team for a significant Engineering-Procurement-Construction project. This project involves the construction of large-scale production lines that have never been built before, with the goal of achieving cell production volume at an unprecedented scale. Our work environment is fast-paced and highly exhilarating.

As part of the GID Purchasing Team, you will play a crucial role in procuring the necessary equipment and materials for the projects in the EU and the UK, but now focused on the French project in Douai. Additionally, we require an unwavering positive attitude towards sustained hard work.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish procurement strategy on related construction services, engineering and materials based on the project's construction plan in reverse order.
  • Stay up to date with the latest market trends and continuous sourcing for the best products and services for the business with the most reasonable prices.
  • Create and execute the procurement strategy.
  • Organize bidding and tendering, vendor bidding and nomination.
  • Manage vendor contracts and track vendor payments.
  • Renegotiate business plan based on project adjustment.
  • Use SAP to manage PO/PR requirements based on the output of the above.
  • Proactively seeking cost-saving solutions to enable company industrial development.
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors globally and identify strategies to scale second product development.
  • Coordinate & support for global plant launch equipment & global direct material-related project issues.


Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Engineering

• Graduate studies in project management business and procurement qualification will be valued

• Have more than 8 years of experience in purchasing areas part of MEP, Construction or Facilities space, of large industrial construction projects ($100m+ capex)

• Additional experience in project controls or construction management preferred.

• Hi-tech, construction and/or automotive industry experience.

• Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, and presentation skills are a must

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI.

• Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals

• Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn

• Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution

• Driver’s license
