The position:

As part of the Cosmo Next team and reporting directly to its director, you bring your expertise and know-how in scientific modeling, simulation and software development to the service of our clients’ needs. You participate in the development of software solutions that help business leaders make better decisions, which is achieved by leveraging simulation models of the multifaceted systems they manage in a variety of sectors including supply chain management, logistics or physical asset management. You are in charge of developing and maintaining our simulation solutions, with a focus on supply chain simulation and optimization. You can also take part in client projects using these solutions and you work in close collaboration with other teams on both project delivery and product activities.

Missions :

• Development of simulation models over their entire life cycle (design, implementation, testing, maintenance, integration into a solution on the Cosmo Tech platform). You contribute to the specifications of the simulators, their development and ensure the implementation of good software development practices (tests, CI/CD, documentation).
• Contribution to internal and external projects, in particular those involving modeling or deployment of solutions on the Cosmo Tech platform. Participation in customer exchanges, from requirements definition workshops to presentation of results, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Contribution to internal training and technical training of partners, particularly on modeling topics and solutions. Promotion of the Cosmo Tech technology to customers and partners.
• Close interaction with other delivery teams on customer projects, as well as with the product management and engineering teams to ensure the Cosmo Tech products address their users’ needs.

Your profile :

• Engineering degree, Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Natural Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Data Science or Computer Science.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of different ways of modeling and simulating the dynamics of a system, experience with agent-oriented or discrete event simulation tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of major optimization techniques (black-box optimization, evolutionary algorithms, linear programming, gradient descent, etc… ) and solid foundations in statistics and probability (in particular Monte Carlo methods).
• Proficiency in Python (essential) and some experience in C++ (can be substituted with the knowledge of other programming languages such as C, Java, etc… )
• Familiarity with software development tools (git, automated tests, …). Experience working on cloud platforms is a plus.
• Interest in solving tangible industrial challenges, particularly the simulation of supply chains.
• Ability to master new subjects quickly, to evolve independently and to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
• Rigor and ability to solve problems within a constrained time frame
• Team player, willingness to take initiatives and be proactive.
• Very good written and oral communication, particularly in English
