Our team of Supply Chain and Logistics experts speaks your language and operates in your world. I am currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Buyer for one of my clients, an automotive manufacturing company. Job description: - Ensure the supply of various purchase requisitions; - Draft and issue calls for tender; - Negotiate and organize contractual agreements with suppliers; - Develop, optimize and maintain sound relationships with suppliers; - Find alternative sources of supply; - Request quotations from suppliers; - Carry out product research in collaboration with the Engineering, Methods and Quality departments when necessary; - Support quotation requests from Customer Service (after market) and Engineering departments; - Match purchase orders with purchase requisitions; - Send orders to suppliers; - Manage order confirmations with suppliers; - Track open purchase orders and cancel/modify those that need to be cancelled; - Regularly update supplier information (contacts, phone numbers, etc.); - Provide visibility to various departments, as required; - Collaborate with the Sales department when developing a strategy that involves a risk/impact for this department; - Handle supplier returns and non-conformances (purchasing portion); - Process invoices in discrepancy (purchasing portion); - Understand and respect existing and developing procedures and processes; Qualifications required: - College diploma in supply management or related field - Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in the supply chain - Considerable experience in a manufacturing environment - Bilingualism (French and English) - Knowledge of an ERP system (SYSPRO, SAP a strong asset) - Ability to read technical drawings (a strong asset) - Proficiency in MS Office suite and various software programs (Excel at intermediate/expert level) - Sense of priorities, autonomy and initiative - Dynamic, positive & professional attitude
