Advisor, Medical Affairs Reporting to the Director of Medical Affairs, the Advisor, Medical Affairs is accountable for leading the overall coordination of the applicable professional staff departments. They are accountable for supporting department medical leadership including the engagement and recruitment of professional staff to their departments. Additionally, this role is accountable for supporting the scheduling of professional staff in their departments, schedule maintenance and related physician payments. Additional administrative accountabilities for support to the Chiefs & Medical Directors includes calendar management and department/division meeting support. They will also provide key support for the recruitment of professional staff to their departments. They will also work closely with the Director of Medical Affairs to support key projects relating to professional staff. Primary Responsibilities Accountable for the schedules for the departments of Hospital Based Medicine, Stroke, Rehab, Complex and Palliative Care and Internal Medicine. Supporting the development of meeting agendas along with minute taking and tracking of finalized minutes for submission to MAC Ensuring physicians are submitting shadow billings as required Working with the Director of Medical Affairs and applicable medical leaders to support the recruitment of Professional Staff to the organization Supporting Chiefs and Medical Directors within portfolio including scheduling leadership related meetings as well as monthly department meetings Supporting applicable department/division schedules and schedule management Working closely with other members of the department to support professional staff within the organization Processing regular payments for professional staff in the departments Professional staff payment report development and submissions for applicable departments Working with the Director of Medical Affairs on key projects relating to professional staff Qualifications 3 year College diploma in related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred 3 – 5 years related experience working in a healthcare setting, preference for candidates with hospital specific experience Previous experience working directly with physicians and other professional staff considered an asset Project management/coordination experience Mandatory Competencies General understanding of medical terminology, basic accounting principles, physician billing and scheduling. Strong computer skills required with an ability to learn new computer skills quickly. Advanced level proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite Products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Strong organizational, time management skills, and a high attention to detail.
