The Brantford General is an acute care hospital The Willett in Paris is an urgent care centre and transitional beds The Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) Foundation is a not for profit organization responsible for raising funds in support of the Brantford General and Willett, Paris. The BCHS Foundation is an engaged partner to the BCHS and contributions made to the Foundation benefit the purchase of patient equipment, renovate spaces and provide investment in resources to enhance the exceptional care provided at the BCHS. Position Summary The position of the Development Coordinator, Annual Program is responsible for the planning and execution of the Annual program of the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation including Memorial, Tribute and Hospital Family Activities and programs. The primary duties include the identification of, planning and facilitate the execution of all direct mail and online appeal programs. This role is also responsible for continued implementation and growth of the Memorial, Tribute, Hospital Family, Guardian Angel Grateful Patient program and other specified appeals as they arise. This position will work with the Associate Director of Development to identify prospects to participate in solicitations for sponsorship of the aforementioned programs to maximize revenue and facilitate growth (matching donors) of the appeal programs. Primary Responsibilities Research, plan and execute the appeals and follow-up mailing for BCHS Foundation, including writing and development of outgoing package(s). Responsibilities include concept development, managing necessary printing, reach and distribution, advertising, and ensuring applicable sponsorship recognition is achieved. Current Appeals include but are not limed to: Spring Appeal, Holiday/Winter Appeal, We Miss you Mailing, Grateful Patient Appeals, Special Occasion/needs appeals (pediatric, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day) Develop and execute of a strategic stewardship plan to promote the growth of the Annual Fund Audience (ie: tailored thank-you letters to donors of different giving categories) Manage and further develop the memorial, Tribute and Grateful Families programs to facilitate growth and help to identify potential donors to grow the donor pipeline. Manage the BCHS Foundation Hospital Family program and applicable events and activities, including the internal 50/50 program. Manage and oversee any lottery programs which the BCHS Foundation may participate in. Act as a well-informed, engaged BCHS Foundation Ambassador when needed at events and activities. Facilitate meetings and for the various Annual Fund Audiences Proposal writing with the Associate Director of Development, Research. Qualifications University Degree, 3 Year Community College Program preferably in Fundraising, Communications or equivalent work experience. Preferred 3 years of non-profit and/or direct mail experience. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle as travel will be involved in organization of fundraising events. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and presentation skills. Demonstrated knowledge and proven track record of fundraising success would be considered an asset.
