Job Description
Description: Breakdown inspection and repairs, visit sites to undertake fault finding, identify the cause of the problem, rectify on site if possible (including balancing and/or laser alignment). Undertake servicing in terms of customer planned maintenance contracts, check equipment, carry out required maintenance and produce a report of work done in order to comply with the Service Level Agreement. Investigate and repair equipment failures under breakdown / emergency conditions. This will include costing (in terms of hours and skill mix) identification and mobilizing of resources and executing the works Execute the installation and alignment of equipment (including alignment), commence with commissioning of machinery (including balancing if required), check vibrations, temperatures, etc. and run the fan for a test period. Complete a Commissioning Report and a Take Over Certificate for contract closures At all times adhere to procedures, instructions, quality and safety standards. Tracking and managing of hours of teams and sub-contractors Ensure that equipment are timeously calibrated in accordance with procedure Ensure sufficient stock of shims and assorted balancing weights: Monitor stock levels and order if required Upkeep of system required documentation, including QC, EHS, vehicle log sheets and time keeping Requirements: Grade 12/ Matric Qualified Fitter Artisan Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 5 years post qualification experience of working with rotating assemblies in an industrial/mining/power station environment Vibration Analysing Course Laser Alignment Course Drivers Licence Computer literate
