The Company:

Our client is a leading distributor of both commodity and specialist engineering thermoplastics to the plastics processing industry. Key market sectors include automotive, medical, electrical and packaging. The company enjoys an enviable reputation for product quality and stock availability. It is well placed to respond to customer needs through a worldwide service and distribution network.

The Role:

• Contact and visit existing and new customers regularly to ensure continuation of existing business: exceeding agreed budget targets as well as identifying potential opportunities for new business
• Recording of customer, competitor & market related information in CRM system
• Project identification: develop a strong pipeline of new opportunities capable of delivering net growth into the sales area that meets the business objectives - monitoring and reporting on all commercial projects in the region
• Prepare (SAP) and follow up quotations (CRM system) & samples
• Pricing negotiations with customers - including contract negotiations
• Monitor usage/fulfilling of bonus (customer rebate) agreements
• Develop, implement and drive strategy for sales growth in line with company strategy
• Regular analysis of sales performance
• Re-engage non buying customers
• Preparation of sales budget
• Attend customer events, seminars, exhibitions etc. as required

The Person:

• Completed commercial and/or technical apprenticeship/training
• Academic studies/training is an advantage but not mandatory
• Fluent in French and English, spoken and written
• Long-standing and relevant professional experience in field sales
• Preferably with existing customer network within dedicated sales area
• Knowledge and understanding of polymer types and their application
• Computer skills: MS Office, SAP
• Knowledge in Business Management
• Efficient time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
