Your Impact:

Our Defence and Security teams provide design and engineering services for our nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice.

We offer hybrid working with 3 days at the site RAF Lakenheath. East Suffolk. This Infrastructure Programme consists of 14 immediate projects to accommodate, support and maintain Fighter Jets, a design and build contract with a capital value of circa £160m.

About the Opportunity

This Quantity Surveyor role will require someone working towards RICS Chartership or newly qualified.
  • The role will be specifically for the Defence and Security sector supporting the client on pre and post contract activities.
  • In order to carry out their duties the candidate will be expected to undertake travel to project locations as and when required.
  • Working on their own initiative, whilst providing the necessary support to the client and overall project team on all commercial matters pre and post contract.
  • The role offers significant progression opportunities developing from an initial supporting role on larger projects to whole project accountability in a commercial capacity.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Quantity Surveying Degree or other relevant qualification
  • UK Nationality with the ability to apply for SC clearance
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of Construction Contracts, JCT, FIDIC, NEC, with specific focus on the NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract
  • Good organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail, Confident communicator, Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
  • Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract delivery
  • Knowledge and understanding and application of cost planning, procurement and tendering procedures, cost forecasting and reporting, cost control, cost risk management, contract documentation preparation and contract administration
  • Pre and post contract commercial knowledge
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of Construction Contracts, with specific focus on the NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract
  • Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract service delivery
