About the business unit 





The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors. 





About the role





We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team of project management professionals in our Cambridge office.





Our Cambridge team of project managers focuses on the Health, Science, Education and Defence sectors in London and the Southeast and has a strong track record in the delivery of public projects through major frameworks and local projects for private sector clients.We are currently delivering programmes of work for Cambridge Colleges, the NHS New Hospitals Programme, major Pharmaceutical Clients, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and the Department of Education and would like to hear from you if you are interested in joining this team. You will receive great support from the wider team, we are committed to the training and development of our staff. We operate structured training programmes for staff to attain professional qualifications and support our staff at all levels with learning and development opportunities through our learning and development team.





This role can be offered on a full time or a part time basis.







What will you be getting up to?





You will be working as an associate project manager with responsibility for the delivery of individual schemes for a client or delivering a portfolio of projects to a customer. We are looking for someone that has worked in a client facing role and has experience of leading project teams of internal and external consultants. You will also be involved in initiating, managing and delivering projects and frameworks under our business management systems (BMS), establishing budgets and monitoring and controlling the financial performance of projects and overseeing,developing and mentoring more junior staff within the team. Additionally, you will be expected to lead on business development activities in appointed sectors with selected Clients.







Have you got what it takes?





If you have experience of project management in the construction industry with the focus on delivering buildings and infrastructure schemes through all stages of the project cycle, then this could be just the role for you. This role is for a client facing project manager who has the ability to move between market sectors and apply their experience across multiple sectors.





As well as being a successful project manager, you will also have the following qualifications and experience:





• Be a qualified member of a recognised relevant professional body with chartered status

• Knowledge of project programming and scheduling software, e.g. MS Project

• Experience of contract administration of JCT and NEC contracts

• Experience of working in the public and private sector on stand-alone schemes and on frameworks
